Alphonse Mucha 2011 Wall Calendar Details
Alphonse Mucha (Czech, 1860-1939) virtually invented Art Nouveau as it applied to graphic design. Hired by happenstance to design a poster for one of Sarah Bernhardt's theatrical productions, he finished it in just a few days. The profoundly innovative poster earned its creator instant fame. Before the poster, Mucha had been a capable illustrator and painter who kept his 'real' art safely in the Academic mode. After the poster, he worked prolifically in his new style, producing hundreds of images--such as these twelve gorgeous examples of 'le style Mucha.'Size: 12 x 13 in.; opens to 12 x 26 in. Printed on FSC certified paper with soy-based ink.
